The video, just over one minute long, was shot during the recent filming of a Pepsi advert and shows Beckham smashing three footballs into trashcans placed handily along the beach.
The fact the clip was uploaded onto YouTube by Pepsi and that Beckham is seen sipping a can of the soft drink throughout has caused many viewers to question its authenticity,
The debate over whether its real or fake hasn't stopped thousands of people viewing the video though – with the original having already been watched over 13,000 times in under 24 hours and numerous duplicates being uploaded onto YouTube and across the internet.
The video also brings to mind Ronaldinho's infamous crossbar challenge which the Brazilian filmed for Nike.
